HuzaMed is a healthcare networking platform operating in Rwanda. For the purposes of Law No. 058/2021 relating to the protection of personal data and privacy, HuzaMed is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our Data Protection Officer can be reached at dpo@huzamed.rw.
Account details: your name, email address, phone number, password (stored hashed, never in readable form) and preferred language. Profile details: your profession or facility type, specialties and services, qualifications, experience, languages, district and sector, and any photograph or logo you upload. Verification documents: the licences, registrations and authorisations you submit, along with the licence number, issuing council and validity dates. Usage data: pages viewed, searches run and actions taken, used to operate and improve the service. We do not load non-essential analytics before you consent.
To create and operate your account. To verify your credentials with the issuing council — this is the core of the service and cannot be opted out of while your profile is listed. To display your public profile in the directory, where you have chosen to be listed. To match you with jobs, referrals, listings and CME relevant to your profession. To send you service messages about your account, verification status and activity. To meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
Licence documents are treated as the most sensitive data we hold. They are encrypted at rest and in transit, and are accessible only to the verification team members who need to review them. We never publish a document, never expose a permanent public link to one, and never share a document with another member, an advertiser or any third party other than the issuing council for the purpose of confirming its validity.
Regulatory councils, for the sole purpose of confirming that a licence is valid. Service providers who host our infrastructure and send our messages, under contract and only as needed to provide the service. Authorities, where we are legally required to do so. We do not sell your personal data. Advertisers receive aggregate performance figures — impressions and clicks — never your identity or contact details.
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your public profile immediately and delete or irreversibly anonymise your personal data within 90 days, except where we are legally required to retain specific records for longer. Verification documents are retained for the life of the licence plus the period required for regulatory audit.
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, to have it erased, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You can exercise most of these yourself from Settings → Privacy, including exporting your data and deleting your account.
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your language. Analytics and any other non-essential cookies are loaded only after you have given consent through the banner, and you can change your mind at any time.
If we make a material change, we will tell you by email and in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
